the doubt and the noble truths
The first three noble truths are as reflective of my reality and my experience as any other claimed truths I’ve yet to hear.
The obstacle, for me the obstacle for me, is the path, it is the obstacle of skepticism that I am inflicted with. The religion, the philosophy, in its seriousness, is a truth I have not experienced. In all its rigidness how can they, or anyone, be so adamant that such seriousness is not a doctrine? Especially, because it seems evident to me that you need to know it, you need to learn the path, before you can experience it .
Well, then, you ask, if I am so reasonably skeptical how can I be sure of truth number the three, the cessation of suffering? As a child, a boy, I can remember feeling unconditional joy while cradled in the arms of a mother of all sentient beings. And, I know she’s the mother of all because I've been told ex-creedal that my experience is not mine alone.

I, too, have experience in a skeptical existence. I, too, have been cradled in the arms of sentient omnipotence. I have come to face my own impotence in the process of belief. Personally, I believe that confusion is engendered by a hard definition. Enlightenment follows from a guiding definition. Does this fall into the trap of pure subjectivity? Perhaps. I am ill-defined and thus the world around me is ill-defined.
'engendered'?!!?...baswa get out of your head and into my car!!!...i'll drive you far away from the mis-information of graduate school and into the cool soothing mist of the infinate ocean...oh wait, i don't have a car, i suppose you will forever be stuck in the desert of a discontent you hardly realize...
Engender this...(insert tomfoolery here). Reality is a box of tissues lying in the middle of interstate, cars whizzing by, moved by the passage of air, waiting for the unaware and uncaring to crush it from existence. Doctrine is reality given meaning through imposed strictures. Doctrine creates the incongruous. But then again, I like Frosted Flakes despite Tony the Tiger.
